August 29 - September 1, 2010 in Interlaken, Switzerland
Global demand for energy continues to rise and is expected to increase by more than 50 per cent by 2030. Demand for electricity is anticipated to almost double in the same timeframe!
While the need for energy and electricity continues to grow, so does the urgency to address environmental issues. Climate change concerns are now high on the global agenda and nations around the world are looking at ways to address the challenge.

ABB Colloquium 2010 will be held in Interlaken, Switzerland from August 29 to September 1, 2010. This is our main Power event, held every other year and was initiated more than 30 years ago. At this two-day customer event, which usually follows the discussions held at Cigré in Paris we invite a select gathering of senior executives and thought leaders from power utilities, industry and other domain experts from all over the world.
The symposium focuses on technology from a business perspective and is conducted in the form of best-practice sharing, technology presentations, plenary sessions and discussion forums. The principal objective of the ABB Colloquium is to stimulate discussion and exchange experiences from all over the world on key sector trends and technology developments. Besides serving as a platform for sharing thoughts and opinions, the event also provides an excellent networking opportunity.
The overall theme of this year’s Colloquium is the ‘Evolving Power Scenario’ and the opportunities and challenges of balancing the growing need for electricity while addressing climate change concerns. As part of this theme, we will focus on three main inter-related topics - integration of renewables, energy efficiency and power reliability.
