Feb 9 – ABB introduced the new AC500-eCo entry level PLC, a unique scalable and cost effective addition to the AC500 family in Johor Bahru recently. The launch was attended by James Large, Regional Sales Manager, South Asia, PLC Products; and Low Teck Yong, Regional Sales Manager, Malaysia, Discrete Automation and Motion.
During the event, guests from the local discrete automation and motion industry located in Johor were treated to an informative session covering key characteristics of the new AC500-eCo which is an economical entry level PLC for stand-alone solutions and equipment control.
The AC500-eCo platform can be used flexibly thanks to its scalability and modular platform concept. An integrated serial interface parameterized as a Modbus master/slave or CS31 master provides an easy means of exchanging data. A second serial interface and a secure digital (SD) cardholder can be optionally attached.
The AC500-eCo is ideally suited to applications in the textiles and food industries, in building, warehouse and transportation automation, and in energy and environmental technology.
