  • Breaking records in power generation

    2012-04-24: ABB has delivered in record time a new Symphony plant automation system for a 500 MW supercritical unit at South Korea’s largest thermal power plant, enabling the unit to start production 11 days ahead of schedule. The unit holds the world record for running without unscheduled downtime.

  • Downloading the cloud: improved irrigation systems in southern Spain

    2012-02-06: Automation can dramatically improve the effectiveness of crop irrigation systems, but these systems can be difficult to install and maintain in remote locations since their control elements are usually out of doors, exposed to extreme weather conditions, and mains electricity is generally unavailable.
